What everyone wants to know weight is how much does a float support. There are some basic calculations you can use to determine what any air or foam filled device devices will support. The general rule of thumb is 55 pounds per cubic foot. In determining your need do not forget to take into account the weight of the dock and all its materials. We like to error on the side of caution and suggest using a 50% factor when applying this calculation. In other words if the math suggests a floating device will support 1500 pounds we would suggest using for 750 pounds. 1500 pounds would indicate the float would be pushed completely down, and that should be avoided.
