Custom Design & Built

Custom Design

At Richardson Docks we custom design our docks using cad software. We produce a drawing for each dock system regardless of size. A good design gives everyone involved a useful visual that is important to achieving a good looking and functional product. We include on the drawing peripherals such as cleats, anchors, bumpers and swim ladders.

The Custom Design Process

The custom design process begins with you contacting us. It is very important that we understand your expectations and use of the docks you are looking to install. We will work quickly with your input to arrive at a finished product. Once we do we will provide the drawing along with an outline of the costs and probable installation date. Our pricing includes a finished product with all the peripherals including swim ladder, dock cleats, bumpers, anchors along with delivery and installation. Any variables will be identified in the quote.

Knowing Your Shoreline

Knowing your shoreline and articulating that to us is probably the most important part of the plan. A poor dock access makes for a poor dock however a good access can make your dock incredible.

The Size and Shape

Is your dock for just a boat or is it also a gathering spot where you can sit and enjoy the day with family and friends? The ultimate use of your dock will dictate it’s size and perhaps even the shape.

Water Depth

How deep will the water be surrounding your dock? How far does the dock have to extend to be situated in a satisfactory depth? What is the difference between the high and low water elevation? The answer to theses questions will also help in determining the length and what type of access you will need.
